Business Administration (MBA)

The Thomas University MBA is a professional and applied graduate degree, preparing the student for leadership in the business world of the twenty-first century through readings, research, and case study analysis. The curriculum offers students both theoretical and practical-based learning experiences to enhance leadership skills and prepare students to meet the needs of organizations in their local community and geographic region.

The Business Division’s Business Leadership Advisory Board is comprised of corporate leaders from Fortune 500 companies and includes principals from across the United States. These leaders provide valuable information concerning course content, internships, job opportunities and current business issues critical to the success of our students.

The MBA program is open to students with undergraduate majors in any area, assuming passage of four prerequisites for non-business majors in Financial Accounting, Macroeconomics, Finance and Statistics.

Students have two options for completing the MBA program:

  • The online MBA can be completed in as little as 12 months. Classes are offered entirely online in a combination of synchronous and asynchronous formats. All classes are offered in 8-week sessions.
  • Students can also enroll in the traditional, on-ground MBA which can be completed in two years of evening and online modalities.

Meaning of Sigma Beta Delta

Sigma is the initial letter of the Greek word for wisdom. Wisdom is knowledge gained over time, analyzed and used with discernment. Wisdom is not merely information, but allows one to acknowledge information, consider its validity and relevance, and then incorporate into one’s own life what is appropriate.

Beta is the initial letter of the Greek word that signifies honor. Honor is a personal quality of the highest value. Honorable persons are held in esteem, considered to be trustworthy, and admired by others because they live a life that is worthy of such recognition. Honorable persons have chosen to live a life that is bound by integrity and ethical decision-making. They respect others and are willing to provide leadership to the benefit of humankind.

Delta is the initial letter of the Greek word that signifies the pursuit of meaningful aspirations. Persons of wisdom and honor must aspire to a course to achieve their objectives, for goals without action are no more fulfilling than action without goals. To aspire toward the fulfillment of one’s goals to serve humankind and develop personally and professionally will lead to a life of meaning and satisfaction.

Motto

The Sigma Beta Delta motto is Wisdom… Honor… Aspirations
